The story

A tiger turns its head and holds you there — painted flat and graphic, in burnt orange, deep rust and black, against a pale sea-green ground. Behind it a black ring and a sweep of orange arc like an eclipse, with dark circles scattered across the field. The stripes are stylised into ribbons, so the coat reads as pure pattern a moment before it resolves into an animal. Original acrylic on stretched canvas, one of one.
