Meet the Artist: Surya V

Surya V works in soft pastel on textured paper — and, more recently, acrylic on canvas — building colour in patient layers — from kaleidoscopic florals and folk-inflected wildlife to quiet still lifes and figures dissolved into pure colour.

The eleven works in our opening collection move between worlds: a tiger met head-on in black, white and flame; a peacock fanned out in green and gold; bougainvillea spilling from a cobalt bottle; a couple sharing an umbrella as the lamps come on. What ties them together is colour used fearlessly and drawn by hand.

Every piece in the collection is an original — one sheet, one of one. Each ships unframed and carefully protected, ready for the frame of your choice; the framed views on each listing are visualisations to help you picture the work on your wall.
